Andaman & Nicobar Islands has unique heritage namely biodiversity, home for indigenous tribes and diversified culture that make her shine. Since independence, constant endeavour has been taken to make the islands an educational hub. Along with higher educational institutions for arts and science, teacher training, engineering and technology and medicine, legal study has recently been added to make it self-reliant.
Established by Andaman & Nicobar Islands Legal Education Society (ANILES) with grant–in–aid by A & N Administration, it became functional from the academic year 2016–2017 offering at present five year integrated B.A., LL.B., degree course. The college has been proudly marching forward excelling in all activities and will present the first batch of young lawyers by the end of the current academic year. The increasing demand for admission in Andaman Law College is a testimony to its vibrant growth.
The untiring efforts of the team of dedicated staff and faculty members along with the patronage of the Administration, has made Andaman Law College more visible in the map of legal education. It would emerge as center of excellence in legal education in the years to come.

The vision of Andaman Law College is to provide legal education, legal services and research in the field of law in Andaman & Nicobar Islands. To achieve the said objectives, Andaman Law College aims:
a) To disseminate legal knowledge by teaching, research, seminar, lectures, conferences and symposia.
b) To promote legal awareness in the community for achieving social, economic and political justice.
c) To promote cultural, legal and ethical values with a view to foster the Rule of Law as the objective enshrined in the Constitution of India.
d) To develop the students a sense of responsibility to serve society in the field of law.
The B.A., LL.B., degree course offered in Andaman Law College is provisionally affliated to Pondicherry University and also recognised by the Bar Council of India.

The Affairs of the ANILES are administered by three governing bodies namely the General Body, the Executive Council and the Academic Council, which are created by the Rules and Regulations of the ANILES. The Hon'ble Lieutenant Governor, Chief Secretary and Secretary (Law) are the President, Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the ANILES respectively. The Rules and Regulations of the ANILES define the constitution, functions and duties of the governing bodies.

Andaman Law College firmly believes in democratic ideals, transparency of information and accountability to the public. The Principal of the college is the Public Information Officer and the Deputy Secretary (Law & Jail), A & N Administration is the Appellate Authority for providing required information relating to the activities of the college under section 4 of the Right to Information Act, 2005
